What happened

Candidates were given pens with vanishing ink so that a TNPSC record clerk and a typist could refill their answer sheets with correct answers while the sheets were in transit; 99 candidates were enticed to pay for the arrangement. CB-CID arrested 118 people including 98 candidates, two TNPSC staff and a van driver, and the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court transferred the investigation to the CBI on 14 December 2021.
